Did you know that the FHA and HUD offer by-state listings of FHA-related news, programs, home loan resources and other information? While FHA home loans are available nationwide, there are many state and local programs designed to help home owners, FHA borrowers, veterans and others affected by such programs.
For example, on the Alabama page at http://portal.hud.gov/
These state page on the FHA official site also contain valuable links to information for foreclosure avoidance, buying a home, even finding a housing counselor. Clicking on the “Find A Housing Counselor” link on any state page will take you to a state-specific listing of FHA approved housing counselors complete with phone numbers, addresses and other important information.
The FHA by-state resource listings can be very helpful for first time FHA loan applicants who aren’t sure about the program, what’s available in their state, and any local assistance which might be available. There are also contact numbers and other details on the nearest FHA and HUD offices in each state.
